12/04/2016 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Rudy is an athletic RHP and 3B who will graduate in 2019. Offensively, he made consistent contact to all fields, as he loaded his hands on time, took a short/quick stride and used his lower 1/2 well to create good torque/power. At 3B, he showed reliable hands and a good pre-pitch setup which allowed him to move laterally well. On the hill, Rudy featured 3 pitches from a 3/4 arm angle, including a well located mid 70's fastball with glove side run, an 11-5 curveball with some late break and a changeup which sat in the upper 50's to low 60's which is still developing. Overall, Rudy is a polished young player, who with continued hard work, will be an exciting 2-way player in the future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
