02/08/2009 - College PREP - Houston, TX Russtin is a RHP with a tall, strong looking body that projects as he polishes it up. Delivery is average showing in line direction with on time separation. He is around the plate and throws strikes. Arm strength is well below average and needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength and raise velocities. He throws a 2 and 4 seam fastball both showing on a flat plane. Breaking ball is below average displaying an 11/5 shape with tight spin and early break. Changeup needs a lot of work to be an efficient pitch. Russtin has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
