01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This catcher has a solid al-around skill-set which he put on display out in Arizona. Behind the dish, he sits in well with flexion. Quick footwork allows him to get around pitches in the dirt, centering the ball off of his chest. He replaces well on throws down to 2B as he accurately puts his throws on the bag at 2B. With the bat, this RHH has quiet actions with rhythm to load. He connects with strength and hits the ball on a line. Ryan is a talented player that will play at a high level.

09/14/2014 - National Tryout - Fresno, CA Ryan continues to show well on the diamond. This defensive specialist is a gamer behind the dish. He has quick footwork and moves well laterally around pitches in the dirt. He centers them off of his chest and keeps the ball in front. Exchange it quick/clean as he puts his throws on the bag. In the OF, Ryan takes a quick first step with proper routes to track down balls hit to his right and left. He fields the ball cleanly and works in-line toward his target. With the bat, Ryan shows a balanced approach with patience. He throws the barrel with quick hands and bat speed resulting in hard hit line-drives. A versatile athlete - Dami possesses the skills that will provide success.

12/27/2013 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Ryan is an athletic OF with a bright future in the game. In the OF he is aggressive to the ball with good body control. He has a quick first step and takes the proper routes to the ball. He has a long exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. Offensively he has a strong load, excellent balance, and uses his lower half well. He has a middle of the field approach and made consistent contact during camp. Would like to see him cut down his stride at the plate to have more consistent timing.

09/15/2013 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Ryan is a (6'0/175lbs) young, athletic catcher with a quick clean exchange. He gains ground working in-line toward second base, resulting in low pop times (1.97-2.06). Ryan sits in well with soft hands framing while tracking each pitch. He demonstrates athletic footwork while blocking balls in the dirt and should continue to work on a wider stance for a lower target. At the plate, Ryan has a square setup while remaining balanced. He utilizes his lower half with a short stride creating explosive bat speed through the hitting zone. He has a good swing path by keeping his hands inside the baseball with extension, resulting in gap power to all fields. He has the ability for gap power and can be a run producer in the middle of the line-up. Ryan is a talented hitting catcher with excellent body language and will help any team win being a solid presence behind the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
