11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Ryan is a lean, athletic OF/LHP in the class of 2026 with promising skills and room for development. In the outfield, he exhibits smooth, fluid actions and takes proper routes to the ball but will benefit from working to get behind balls more consistently to create momentum through his target. Improving his foot quickness will enhance his range, while a dedicated long toss program will help build the arm strength needed for stronger throws. Offensively, Ryan showcases an athletic setup and quick hands that work through a level swing path, allowing him to utilize all fields with a line-drive approach. As he incorporates his lower half more effectively, his power potential will grow. On the mound, his fastball ranges from 69-70 mph, complemented by a 2/8 breaking ball with gradual break and a changeup with sinking action, all delivered with consistent arm speed. With two years to continue refining his game and building strength, Ryan has the potential to make significant strides and elevate his overall skill set.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
