04/02/2023 - National Showcase - Visalia, CA Ryan is a 2024 RHP out of Kingsburg, CA. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 64-66 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Ryan shows the ability to throw strikes with all of his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through al line drive approach. Working to get stride foot down sooner to work on time will aid in improving hitting grade. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Los Angeles All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Ryan continues to shine with his baseball abilities and did so at the All-Star Experience. At 3B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-67 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and develops off speed pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/17/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Ryan is a 2024 RHP. On the bump, Ryan did a good job gathering over the rubber to create balance in his mechanics and work down the mound. His fastball had good tail while his slider had an 11-5 break and could throw it for strikes. At the dish, he utilized a simple set up with a short stride to make consistent contact and work to all fields in his approach. Ryan could benefit from a long toss/strength program to improve velocity. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
