09/18/2024 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2026)
Ryan Laws, a 3B/1B, had a strong showing at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. Defensively, his arm was his biggest asset, showing both strength and accuracy throughout the tournament. As he works on improving his foot speed, his range will continue to expand, making him even more effective in the field.
At the plate, Laws displayed impressive power, narrowly missing a home run when he hit a double. He also added an RBI single and showed excellent plate discipline, drawing two walks. His understanding of the strike zone is evident. While he uses a high leg kick to generate power, working on getting his timing down—especially on fastballs—will further enhance his offensive consistency. Overall, Laws is a solid ballplayer with plenty of potential.
08/04/2024 - National Showcase - Greensboro, NC
Ryan continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.35. Defensive abilities have progressed, characterized by smooth, fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and maintains momentum towards target. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he has enhanced his hitting potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work a level swing path. He strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.
12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2
Ryan continues to show best at the plate, displaying a solid approach. He has strength in his swing (85 mph exit velocity) and shows a feel for the barrel. He has good rhythm and utilizes his lower half well through the swing. At 3B, he maintains good body control through the fielding process. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength. Ryan is fully engaged as he is coachable, willing to make adjustments, and plays hard on the diamond.
12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament
Ryan continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Academic All American showcase. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. He shows active footwork as he attacks ball, working to square ball up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he showed an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfer weight into a firm front side. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
