07/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rindge, NH Ryan is a solid, athletic 3B/C who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.41 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Ryan has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
