11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition in Arizona Ryan is a lanky, solid LHP/1B that will graduate in 2015. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a solid receiver, displaying clean hands. He consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of dirt, saving throws. Arm action is loose, easy with accuracy on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Meoni displays a solid setup with balance / rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, showing a feel for the barrel with ball jumping off when centered. At the event, he was 2 for8 with a 3B. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph with slight fade. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with fading action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and shows solid instincts for the game. With 3 years to further develop, Ryan has abilities with time and room to improve.
