08/10/2010 - College PREP - La Jolla, CA Ryan is a thin, athletic, 2-way player that plays 2nd base and RHP. He currently projects better in the INF as he enters his Senior year. Defensively, Ryan is light on his feet and has good lateral range. He fields the ball out in front of his body and works around the ball well. He has soft hands and delivers the ball accurately to his target. Ryan will need to loosen his arm action and quicken his transfer in order to get even better. On the mound, Ryan has good balance and direction to home. He has a quiet head, okay arm speed, and decent extension. If Ryan can lengthen his arm action, firm up his back side, and improve his command, mound effectiveness will get better. At the plate, Ryan has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a solid base, level swing path, and he stays inside the baseball. Ryan can hit to all fields and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. Hitting numbers can spike if Ryan can let the ball travel deeper and firm up his front leg.
