Ryan shows as a prospect and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.29 runner. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground, working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.03 with accuracy / carry on his throws. Blocking / receiving skills are outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. In the OF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays smooth clean actions. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential have improved through a squared setup and aggressive approach. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a solid feel for the barrel. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Ryan has shown a lot of consistency each time we have seen him this year. He is a good player and student, and he will make a great addition to a college baseball program next year.

Ryan is an extremely talented, young two-way prospect who continues to show big improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.31 runner. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now showing outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential. He has strength (81 mph exit velocity) in his swing with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Hands are quick and stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in working to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws displaying accuracy and carry. Behind the dish, he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.08. He works to get rid of the baseball quickly with times continuing to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft and he presents a solid target through a low athletic setup. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but will benefit by working to get around balls to center out front.

Ryan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.10 with throws displaying accuracy / carry. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls and gets rid of the baseball quickly.

Ryan continues to show solid play in his baseball tools. Behind the plate, pop times have improved. Feet are quick in gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills show as playable tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. At the plate, hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strong hands with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Ryan is a solid 2-way player (C/OF) who continues to progress. Behind the plate, he sits in well with flexion and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He is quick laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt, centering the ball off of his chest. Exchange is clean as he works in-line toward his target - pop times of 2.40. Times will continue to drop as he works to quicken his transfer/exchange. In the OF, Ryan has active footwork and tracks down fly-balls with speed. He secures the ball, gathers well and fires accurate throws from a long/loose action. As a hitter - this righty shows a balanced approach with rhythm to load. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and whips the barrel, pulling the ball with pop. A 2018 grad - Rogan has a ton of upside with a bright future ahead of him.
07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown
Ryan is a lean OF/RHP that will graduate in 2015. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls, which lead to a few nice catches during the tournament. He communicates and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he reads balls better off the bat and works to get behind to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as loads more and utilizes his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop better feel for and create more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength which will come as he matures and works on his separation. Mental makeup is a plus as he displays a great attitude, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 3 years to further develop, Ryan has abilities with time and room to improve.
