03/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Ryan is a young 2nd baseman with a strong frame. Defensively, Ryan attacks the ball aggressively, his feet are playable, and he fields in a low/square position. He has a clean exchange, and a short arm action with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Ryan has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and a short/simple stroke. He has a line drive approach and finds the barrel consistently. Ryan can improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
