He shows a solid mound presence and works at his pace. Arm works smooth/fluid as he throws strikes with all 3 pitches. FB cracks the mitt at 81 mph showing sharp/late tail. Breaking ball has 2/8 shape with gradual break. Added effectiveness will come if he can work to stay on top of it. Splitter is best off-speed as he throws it with FB arm speed. It shows run and drops off of the table, being a good out pitch. With the bat, this RHH shows a closed setup with quiet/simple actions. Barrel delivery is level as he squares the ball up and connects with pop. A shorter/more direct swing path will result in increased power. At 1B, Steinert shows active footwork as he moves around the ground ball well. He has plus lateral range, fields the ball out in front and is sure handed. This versatile athlete has a bright future in the game will his all-around skill set.
