07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Ryan is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2018. In the outfield, he works behind the baseball and fields above his head. In doing so, he works through the ball well allowing him to gain momentum into his throws. He also communicates very well in the outfield which can sometimes be a lost art. At the plate, he starts from a closed stance with a simple approach. He has quick hands staying direct to the baseball and fires his backside through to create bat speed. Allowing the ball to get deep helps Ryan hit to all fields with authority. He also proved to be a tough out during his at bats, making the pitcher work. Ryan is a solid prospect who will continue to grow and mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
