08/23/2009 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Ryan is a 2B with an average frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Foot speed is near average and he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active but need to be more aggressive in coming to get and playing through baseball. Hands and feet work well together in getting rid of the baseball efficiently. Glove action is soft, clean, and sure in making the plays. Defensive abilities are average in the middle of the IF. Arm strength is average and he must get on a strict long toss program to build more arm strength with carry on throws. At the plate, Yule has below average abilities and power through a balanced approach. Swing path is level but he has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving with instruction and adjustments. Ryan has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
