Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Ryan is a 2021 SS/RHP. Medium frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary SS has athletic ready position and circles the ball well with active footwork, has some rhythm through the ball with good transitions while on the move. Has confident actions with the glove. Loose arm action with some present arm strength that projects. Arm velo of 88 across the diamond. Right-handed pitcher who works fast and attacks hitters. Short and compact arm action with a tight 3/4's arm slot, high energy mechanics. Low-80's fastball with arm side run. Tight short slider as his second pitch with 10/4 sweeping action. Flashes a changeup with good sink to RHH. Had 8 K’s in 3 innings of live game action. Right-handed hitter with high hand set and square stance. Quick hands to the ball with some strength at contact. Has a feel for the barrel who flashed some power potential when he got the barrel turned. Exit velo of 91mph. Good athlete with a balance of offensive and defensive tools/skills. 2-way player with skillset to play at the next level.

11/21/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Zamora continues to shine on the diamond. Defensively at SS, he has quick/active prep moving lightly on the balls of his feet. He works fluidly right to left into an athletic fielding position, funnels smoothly and has a clean transfer to throw. Throws show zip and accuracy across the diamond. With the bat, this RHH has an athletic/balanced stance with a solid base. Hands are loose as he whips them through the zone, engages his strong lower 1/2 and connects with pop. On the mound, he throws a FB, SL and CH from a quick arm action. Separation is smooth and mechanics are sound and repeatable. FB cracks the mitt at 80 mph as he fills up the zone with strikes. Changeup compliments FB well with good arm side run. Slider has 11/5 shape as he can throw it for strikes in any count. Ryan is a very talented 2-way prospect who has the tools that will translate well into the next level.

07/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Ryan is a solid, athletic SS who is a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with zip (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop. Ryan has a big upside and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
