11/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ryder is an athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he shows a two-pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 7 years to further develop, Ryder has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
