Official Scouting Report

  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ryker is a talented 6ft/185 3B/RHP in the 2024 class. He recently impressed scouts with his two-way actions at the BF Preseason All American event. In the field, he has active feet and gains ground to the baseball. He squares his body to the ball and creates clean hands. Gains a long over-the-top slot to make strong accurate feeds across the diamond. Working to sink his hips and play low to the ground will provide more glove freedom and hop adjustments. On the mound, he stays directional and repeats his delivery. He is in the zone and mixes in 3 pitches. Arm slot is high 3 qtr and he hides the ball well. His FB sat 81-4 with arm side run. His CG shaped 11-5 with late break at 68-9. His CH sat 77-8 and showed slight run at a mixed speed. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and gains a short stride. Balance stays inside his feet and he is consistently on the barrel. Bat speed plays at 80 velo and creates line drive power to the pull side. Overall, Ryker is a solid two-way prospect in the 2024 class.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Parker (Denver), CO Ryker is a solid RHP/SS who has a promising future on the on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (86 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 80-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Ryker has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
