Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/OFPosition Projection

08/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Honolulu, HI Rylan is an OF/2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with some strength to the build and room to develop. In the OF, shows quick/fluid feet and a good pre-pitch routine. Fields from an athletic/low fielding position and hands out front. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with a short/quick arm action, and an arm velocity of 76mph into infield. At 2B, he shows active feet and ability to center baseball. Tries to work around the baseball and fields from an athletic fielding position and fields the baseball out front. On-line throws to first base with good momentum. Projects better in the OF. At the plate, he begins with an athletic and even stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of strike zone and ability to stay on pitch away. Sprayed balls to the opposite field with a bat exit velocity of 74mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Rylan is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, Rylan shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, making strong throws through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with plus barrel control, spraying the ball to all fields. Overall, Rylan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Rylan is a lean 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 4 years to further develop, Rylan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
