12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Rylan is a 2024 SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Pirate City Tournament. At SS, he starts in a relaxed posture and has an accurate arm. He fields from a low/square fielding position, with hands out front, and has a clean transfer. Accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 84mph. At the plate, he hits from a wide and open stance. He hits into a firm front side with a short barrel path. Hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph during BP. During the games, he reached base 5 times with 4 singles, and a base on ball. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and works downhill. He strides in line and has a controlled landing. In the games, he worked 5 innings he showed a FB that sat 76-79mph with some sinking action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a developing changeup. He struck out 4 hitters and induced weak contact. Rylan is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with continued development.

10/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Charlotte, NC Rylan is an athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he maintains balance. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Rylan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
