07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Ryley is a talented two way C/RHP who will graduate in 2018. Behind the plate he shows active feet and receives with soft, sure hands. When blocking he keeps balls in front well, and centers them towards the plate. He was able to deliver clean throws down to 2nd base showcasing a 2.32 pop time. Improving arm strength and making a cleaner exchange will help him lower his times to 2nd. At the plate, Ryley started from an athletic stance using quick hands to deliver a level swing path through the zone. He made hard contact while also showing some power to left field. Ryley showed great plate discipline in his game at bats as he grinded out tough AB's. Implementing his lower half more will help him generate more power. Continuing to work on his game will help Ryley become a prospect to watch in his final high school season.

05/28/2017 - College PREP - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Ryley is a solid, strong RHP/C who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed a range of 2.16-2.37 with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he tracks balls well through the receiving process. He uses his body well through the blocking process and moves well laterally, centering all balls out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Ryley has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
