Feet are active as he works to square balls up and displays clean hands. He needs to attack balls more, play through, and present hands more out front to improve defensive grade. Throws display accuracy and carry and but will benefit by working to get rid of the baseball quicker to increase arm grade. At the plate is where Claycamp shows best through an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Lower half is aggressive and works well with transferring weight. He has life in his barrel and uses all fields. With 2 years to further develop, Sam has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
