01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Samuel continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Samuel is a talented 3B/RHP in the 2025 class. He has a projectable frame (6’1/202). Scouts loved his body language and his team 1st mentality during camp. In the field, he plays relaxed and his footwork is smooth for his size. He gains ground to the ball and his feet and hands are square in his fielding position. His exchanges are quick and clean and get the ball in the air from numerous arm slots. Arm action is short and is accurate to his targets. On the mound, he can locate 3 pitches for strikes. His FB topped at 76 and can control both sides of the plate. His CB sat 63-5 with 11/5 shape and his slider sat 66-9 with sharp break. He battles on the mound and has an awareness of controlling the run game. As a hitter, he displays pull side contact / power. He begins with an open stance and his hands are loose and relaxed. He gets squared to the plate in his stride and allows his lower half to engage with his swing. Gets the barrel to the ball consistently. Working to improve agility and strength can increase velo and range in the field. Overall, Samuel has great starting points and will continue to improve as he works on his game.

01/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Bothell (Seattle), WA Samuel Craig is a RHP/3B in the 2025 class. He is young in is class but displays ability to become a solid player. On the mound he shows a 3 pitch mix FB,CB,CH. For being young his secondary stuff fits his arsenal well. His CB shows some break but pops out of the hand slightly. His FB/CH both show occasional life. With good consistency with his release point, he will be able to make adjustments quickly to continue to improve on the mound. At 3B Samuel showcased good athletic actions. There is adjustability with his the arm slot and good quick exchange after fielding the ball. In the batters box for being young he possesses some raw power. Was able to make consistent hard contact, spray the ball to all fields, and keep a consistent line-drive approach. As his body matures and he continues to gain experience in his young baseball career, Samuel will show the ability to be a well-rounded player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
