09/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Wappinger Falls, NY Sandro continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 1B for the first time at the event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.80 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. At 1B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel.

06/19/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Alessandro is a young catcher that played bigger than his age out in Omaha. Behind the dish Alessandro sets up athletic and balanced stance. He presents his target well and receives with soft hands. His secondary is low and makes clean exchanges to throw the runner out with accurate throws. His blocking footwork is on time and tucks his chin well to keep the ball in front of him. At the plate Alessandro sets up in a square stance with low hands. He has a small load with a soft and short stride. His rhythm and timing is fluid with a short and compact swing. He works to make good contact with the ball. Alessandro shows great potential at a young age and shows a hard-nosed mentality behind the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
