02/23/2013 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Sean does a very good job of using his hands during the swing, this allows him to hit the ball to all fields. Also Sean does a good job of extending through contact, this allows his barrel to stay in the hitting zone longer, allowing him to be early or late and still make contact. Even though Sean does a good job of using his hands, he tends to get them out in front, he needs to focus on keeping his hands back and allowing them to work with the body. When his hands get out in front he tends to roll over a lot of pitches, and struggle hitting the off speed pitches. One way to help keep the hands back, is simply let the baseball travel into the hitting zone, when your contact is early you tends to get your hands out in front. So letting the baseball travel will allow the hands to stay back with the body.
