12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Sean continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. Behind the dish, he sits low in a comfortable stance and presents a solid target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.28 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He did show the ability to play multiple positions. At the plate, he shows good rhythm through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. He has a great attitude, is coachable, and works hard on the diamond.

09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Sean continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared / setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.19 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he utilizes his aggressive feet in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Sean continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.09 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) Sean is a 2025 C who showcased his skills during the Fall Prospects Tournament. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with a relaxed posture, and has a quick transfer. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Has a quick arm stroke as he recorded an arm velocity up to 75mph and a best pop time of 2.42 seconds. At the plate, he hits from a open and athletic stance with comfortable hands. He has good rhythm to his hands and takes a short glide step. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. In live game action, he reached base multiple times with 2 singles, and 2 base on balls. With 3 years of growth and development, we foresee Sean making huge strides on the baseball field.

07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Sean is a 2025 C who worked hard on his skills during the Cape Cod Training and Competition. Behind the dish, Sean does a good job of replacing his feet and tries to work with good direction towards second base. Presents a good target and tracks pitches well with an easy sway. Throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 75mph and a best pop time of 2.29 seconds. Has a good spine angle on his blocks and tucks his chin. A hard worker who will improve with a good strength program in the next 3 years. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance with high/comfortable hands. Showed good balance at contact point as he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph during BP. With 3 years of growth and development, we foresee Sean having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Sean continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.46 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/22/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (MS) Sean is a 2025 C prospect who honed his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the dish, his primary stance is relaxed with good glove presentation. He does a good job of replacing his feet with good direction towards second base. Works thumb under ball, with a clean transfer, while creating momentum on his throws. Accurate throws and an arm velocity of 67mph and a best pop time of 2.32 seconds. Creates good blocking angles and tucks his chin. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during BP. Had 3 singles, a base on balls, and was generally a tough out in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee Sean having opportunities to play at the high school level and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
