01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Sean is a young, lean, athletic player that plays 1B and LHP. He currently projects better at 1B, but still has 2 seasons to improve at both positions. In the INF, Sean has active feet and sure hands. He works well around the bag, has a quick arm action, and an accurate arm to the target. Sean has a good idea of the 1B position, and with quicker feet, defense can further improve. On the mound, Sean has a compact, fluid delivery and he keeps his eyes on his target. He has good athleticism, mound presence, and pitchability. Sean keeps the same arm speed with all of his pitches, and can throw his CB for strikes. More lower 1/2 explosion and extension out over his front knee will only help pitching grades further improve. At the plate, Sean has good balance and bat speed. He has a good bat path, level swing, and flashes solid gap power. Hitting can improve if Sean can let the ball travel farther and by staying on top of it.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
