Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

09/19/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Sean is a RHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame, with broad shoulders, athletic build and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B, shows fluid footwork and ability to make routine plays. He starts with a wide base and fields from an athletic fielding position with a low funnel. Has a clean exchange, with a loose arm, and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made consistent/on-line throws across diamond with an arm velocity up to 85mph. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He works with good tempo to start his windup as he gathers over the rubber. He rotates well to his target and throws with intent. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 80-82mph that he throws in, a slider with 11/5 shape and good depth through zone, and a cutter with good right to left action. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an even and athletic stance. Simple mechanics who gets lower half through and has a fast bat through hitting zone. During his round of BP, he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. With continued development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
