01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Sean is a SS/RHP shined at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (exit velocity 89 mph). At SS, he has plus lateral range (6.88 60 time), working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (81 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 81-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. Slider displays tight spin and short break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/24/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Sean is an athletic SS/RHP that will graduate in 2020. At SS, Sean shows athletic movements taking +angles getting to the ball fielding it on-time. His hands are sure making clean exchanges with a good arm action. At the plate Sean has quiet movements with a simple rhythm keeping a balanced center. His swing is smooth with +barrel control as he rotates his core showing a line drive approach. Getting on to a weight training program can help Sean improve his power at the plate. On the mound, Sean shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. Pitching, he shows confidence and separates on time with a clean arm action. Sean gets good extension as he works towards the plate finishing rotation around his front leg. On the field, Sean shows leadership attributes and has good work ethic that will be key to his development.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Sean continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.94. At SS, feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in attacking and playing through balls. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Throws are accurate with zip (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities are now solid with well above average power through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 9. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-80 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a great teammate.

07/18/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Sean continues to show with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.31 runner. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. He will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup may be his best tool as he plays the game the right way.

At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 4 for 10 with a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

08/06/2017 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Sean is a talented shortstop prospect who has a long, lean build and graduates in 2020. In the field, Sean plays with active, effective footwork and is not afraid to get to dirty to make a play. He fields the ball in a square position and shows a quick backhand when needed. Sean has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. Sean also shows a quick double play turn. As a right-handed hitter, Sean has an athletic setup with his weight in the front of his stance. His lower half leads his swing with a long stride. Sean has a direct, on-plane swing path producing consistently solid contact. He has a line drive approach and the ability to use all fields. Overall, Sean plays the game athletically with a talented skill set on both sides of the ball giving him high upside to make an impact at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
