09/28/2022 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2023) Sean is a C who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. Behind the dish, Sean does a good job of replacing his feet and works with good direction towards second base. Presents a good target and tracks pitches well with strong hands. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 83mph and a best pop time of 2.08 seconds. Made accurate and on-line throws to second base with good carry. Showed good blocking angles and tucks his chin. Calls a good game and steals strikes with his framing. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and square stance with high hand set. Has a smooth swing and hits pitches in the zone. Showed good barrel control as he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 7 times with 4 singles, a base on balls, and reached base twice on errors. He also had 2 stolen bases. With continued growth and development, we foresee Sean having opportunities to play at the next level.

01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Sean continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.10 with accuracy and carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Sean is a 2023 C/1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Sean does a good job of replacing his feet and works with good direction towards second base. A clean exchange as he works into a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 81mph and a best pop time of 2.16 seconds. Creates good blocking angles with on-time/efficient footwork. He tucks his chin and covers the 5-hole with a good spine angle. He needs to be more vocal/assertive behind the plate. A right-handed hitter, he gets knob to catcher and has strength at contact. During the games, he reached base one time but he 6 quality at-bats. With 2 more years of growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

02/06/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Sean continues to show improvements on the diamond and is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (84 mph) with impressive pop times of 2.12. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and present well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Offensively, he continues to shine with outstanding hitting / power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (85 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel.

09/06/2020 - All-In Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Sean is a tall, lean C/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Sean has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
