10/06/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Sean is a SS/C prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Sean sits in an athletic stance and is active moving to block. He presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly. Covering up more when blocking can help Sean improve as a C. At SS, Sean shows efficient footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Sean improve as a SS. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent line drives. Sean can improve as a hitter by working on his contact points. Overall, Sean is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
