04/21/2013 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Sean is a young, lanky catcher that will graduate in 2015. Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed a range of 2.23-2.34 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as more arm strength is built through a long toss program and improves foot quickness. Receiving / blocking skills shows as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, Stitz shows a squared setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields but needs to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and improve hitting grade. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 2 years to further develop, Sean has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
