09/20/2023 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2025) Sebastian is a MINF/OF out of Le Mars, IA who had a chance to showcase his skillset at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. In the field, he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well as the transfers weight into a firm front side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/18/2023 - National Showcase - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 2B, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness well in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

03/11/2023 - National Showcase - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian is a 2025 2B/OF prospect. In the OF, he displays active feet and shows off good range, especially to his backhand side. He takes good angles and gets good jumps on fly balls. Shows off a good crow hop and a loose arm that makes accurate throws to his targets. Works hard to play through the baseball. At 2nd base, we see a lot of the same things, including active feet pre-pitch. He does a really good job with his 1st step and reading hops on ground balls. Firm hands field out in front. Works hard to have soft hands on backhand plays and a shorter arm path than his outfield throwing. At the plate, he features an athletic stance and good load. He's a leadoff type hitter with a smooth rhythm and good lower half. Works hard to attack the ball out in front. Made consistent contact and showed an ability to hit the ball hard to the opposite field.

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Under Class (2025-2026) Sebastian is an athletic 2B prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Easton Fall Classic. In the field, Sebastian creates good angles and is agile covering ground. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and sprays the ball to all fields. Overall, Sebastian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/19/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian improved foot speed at the event as he ran is best 60 time to date. At 2B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Sebastian is a flat out baseball player. He hustles all over and loves to play the game. On the field he has consistent actions and shows very good range with a quick first step. He shows the ability to play 2B and OF at a solid level and has the potential to continue to play both as his arm strength improves. Offensively, he sprays the ball to all fields and has a balanced stance with a direct swing path. His swing path allows him to make consistent contact and hit the ball where it is pitched. When you combine Sebastian's Baseball IQ with his steadily improving baseball skills you create a solid prospect to watch! With 4 seasons to further develop he has the chance to really blossom into a solid high school contributor and prospect for the next level.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Sebastian is a 2025 prospect out of Le Mars, IA who showed a good baseball IQ and solid all around hustle during his time at Pirate City. Defensively, Sebastian has good range, a solid 1st step to the ball, and he picks out the right hops. He works the double play well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with an accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Sebastian makes consistent/hard contact through a short/compact swing. He keeps a simple stroke, hits with some strength to the pull side, and has a good eye for the zone. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2025 prospect.

07/17/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (MS) Sebastian is a 2B/OF prospect who will graduate high school in 2025. Young/developing player who has plenty of time and room to develop. At 2B, he showed active/efficient feet and creates good fielding angles. Good lateral range, with good cross-over step, and fields out front with a good glove angle. Accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity of 66mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and even stance. Quiet actions enable him to track pitches well. Direct barrel path, with ability to keep it in the zone a long time, and has good balance at contact. Hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 72mph. Sebastian showed good plate discipline in live game action, as he drew 2 base on balls and was hit by a pitch. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him have a bright high school career and beyond.

06/20/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (MS - East) Sebastian is a versatile 2B/OF that will graduate in 2025. In the infield Sebastian shows athletic and quick footwork as he ranges to the ball off the bat. He shows great range to the ball fielding out in front of his body with a confident glove making clean exchanges. He exhibits great fundamentals keeping his momentum going towards the target as he delivers the throw with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Sebastian starts in a tall stance with loose hands. He shows good rhythm loading when the pitcher breaks his hands and gets his foot down with a simple stride. He fires his lower half well making consistent contact to all fields. When on base, he makes things happen on the diamond as he stole multiple bags throughout the event. On field, Sebastian showed great hustle and plus baseball IQ, we look forward to seeing his progress.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Sebastian is a 2025 2B/OF. In the OF, he starts with an athletic ready position and takes a good read step. Good routes to both groundballs and flyballs. Works behind and through the ball as he gathers with a clean exchange. Has short arm action into a 3/4 arm slot with accurate throws into infield at 63mph. At the plate, he hits from an even and athletic stance. Soft/controlled stride with a flat bat path through the zone. Showed good barrel control as he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 65mph. Had 2 singles in live game action. Sebastian has a bright future with continued growth and development.

07/18/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Sebastian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/16/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian worked out at 2nd base and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. He increased arm strength to 58 MPH, defensive skills at 2nd improved, and he ran his best 60 time. At 2nd base, Sebastian has active footwork, good pre-pitch actions, and his hands are firm. He attacks aggressively, plays through properly, and throws with accuracy and a quick release to 2nd base. In the OF, Sebastian tracks well, he takes good angles, and his hands are firm. He gathers himself well, and throws with consistency and momentum to his cut off man. At the plate, Sebastian has a crouched stance, he loads well, and swings a level stick. He gets good extension through the ball and rotates his lower body well.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Sebastian continues to shine on the diamond. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sioux Falls, SD Sebastian is a 2B/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 2B, Sebastian shows proper footwork and covers ground well. He fields in a square position and works to make accurate throws to his target. In the OF, Sebastian shows proper footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He fields in a square position and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets back into his load well. He takes a level swing and hits against a strong front side, leading to solid contact to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

06/19/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Sebastian is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Sebastian takes a good first step and shows active footwork. He fields the ball out in front of his body and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Sebastian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands. He takes a level swing and rotates his core well, leading to solid contact. Activating his hands more in his load can help Sebastian improve as a hitter. With six more years to develop, Sebastian has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Monticello, IA Sebastian is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and OF. In the INF, Sebastian has efficient footwork to the ball, he covers ground well and fields in a low/square position. He has firm hands, makes the routine plays, and throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. In the OF, Sebastian has good pre-pitch actions, he is aggressive to the ball, and he catches at its highest point. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum toward his target. Offensively, Sebastian has a square set-up, good balance, and a direct barrel to the ball. He makes consistent contact and uses his lower body. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
