03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Sanford (Orlando), FL Sebastian is an athletic OF/RHP who will graduate in 2025. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 80-81 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Sebastian has potential with time and room to progress his game.

08/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - St. Augustine, FL Sebastian is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1st base. On the mound, Sebastian has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction toward home, and he finishes in a complete position. At 1B, Sebastian has playable hands and feet, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He follows his throws and delivers the ball with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Sebastian has a square stance, good balance, and he swings on plane. He has a rhythmic swing, and shows the ability to spray to all fields. Sebastian can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
