04/21/2024 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Sergio is an athletic 3B in the class of 2026. He does a good job of creating angles and working downhill to the baseball. His hands work out front and keeps his eyes behind his glove. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good carry across the diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Keeps his hands inside the baseball with a middle of the field approach. Showed some power potential with exit velocity as high as 80mph. Sergio has huge upside, and we look forward to seeing continued success.

01/22/2023 - National Showcase - Dallas, TX Sergio is an OF/2B who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and strength present. In the OF, showed efficient feet with ability to cover ground in all directions. Good first step reads as he fields from an square fielding position with hands out front. Works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 72mph into infield. In the infield, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and ability to make routine plays. Fields from an athletic/square fielding position with a clean transfer. Showed ability to throw from multiple arm angles with a quick release. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Center balance at contact point, with a direct barrel path, and ability to get extended out front. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Sergio is a 2026 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series. At 2B, showed athletic actions, with quick feet, and showed solid fundamentals. Works from right to left and fields with soft hands out front. Showed a 2-hand exchange, with ability to throw from multiple arm slots, and had an arm velocity up to 71mph. A right-handed hitter begins with an athletic and even stance with loose hands. He showed a flat barrel path as he hit balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 5 times with 3 walks and reached base 2 times on errors. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Sergio making huge strides on the baseball field.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Sergio is a 3B/C in the class of 2026 out of Ft. Worth, TX. At 3B, he had fluid actions with good agility moving well laterally to show good range. He presents his glove out front and fields with soft hands. His exchanges are clean and quick with accurate throws to the bases. Offensively, he does a good job of picking up pitches out of the hand. He has an on time stride coupled with good balance to work a middle of the field approach with solid contact. Sergio is a fundamentally sound player who continues to improve his game every time we see him.

09/24/2021 - MS All-Region Tournament Sergio is a 2026 3B prospect who showcased his skills during the All Region Tournament. At 3B, he starts with active feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. He takes a good crossover step which enables him to create good fielding angles. Fields from a low/square fielding position and fields from the ground up with soft hands. Clean exchange as he keeps his feet active towards his target. Accurate throws across diamond, with ability to throw from multiple arm slots, and an arm velocity up to 62mph. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and even stance. Good rhythm/timing to swing, with small hand load, and it centered at contact. Showed a short barrel path as he hit balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 65mph. Sergio reached base numerous times and proved to be a tough out in live game action. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we see him having a good high school career and beyond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
