11/07/2008 - Dodgertown Select Training - 2008 Boshart showed some athletic ability, along with solid feet and actions defensively. He has ability to work with, just needs more time and reps to continue development. Despite not feeling 100%, he showed some bat speed at the plate and setup into solid hitting position. Can work to stay taller on his back leg in order to help flatten his shoulders and his swing through the hitting zone. Did not pitch at this event due to sickness.

07/28/2008 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Seth is a tall lean player with another two years to improve. On the mound, Seth shows balance in his delivery with proper arm action. He needs to work on his off speed pitches as well as adding power from his lower half. Also a long toss program will help increase arm strength. At SS, Seth has an accurate throw with range to get to the ball. His footwork on turning the double play and the backhand will need improvement as he gets stronger but he does have a quick release. At the plate, Seth shows good use of the lower half and a balanced swing. He needs to work on hitting the ball where it is pitched. Seth has some work to do, but plenty of time to get stronger and improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
