07/14/2024 - Baseball Factory Texas All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Seth is a 2025 2B/RHP who improved his skills during the BF All-Star Experience. At 2B he works from right to left and works to center the baseball. He creates momentum towards his target, with active feet throughout, and recorded an arm velocity up to 69mph. On the mound he has a sure mound presence and a repeatable delivery. He has a good rear hip coil and gets extended out front. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 64mph, and a 9/3 shaped breaking ball with good depth. In 2 innings of work, he struck out 1 batter and only allowed 1 hit. At the plate he hits from an even stance with comfortable hands. A quiet head and level eyes allow him to track pitches well. In live game action he made consistent contact and reached base on 3 singles and 2 walks. Seth worked hard in Dallas and showed steady improvement each day. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

04/28/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Seattle, WA Seth is a 2B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Shows quick feet as he works from right to left. Has a low funnel and quick transfer. Made accurate throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot. A right-handed hitter he hits from an athletic and square stance. Starts with a short glide step and activates his hands. Gets a good lower half turn as he hit line drives to all fields. On the mound he starts with a clean leg lift and stays in his legs throughout delivery. Has a controlled landing and gets chest over front knee. Attacks hitters with a 3-pitch mix. FB shows some movement in strike zone, and he throws his CH with FB arm speed. With another year of development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides.

01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota Seth is a 2025 2B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Spring Training in Sarasota. At 2B he shows athletic actions and closes distance on batted balls. He works from right to left and fields from a square fielding position with soft hands. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 67mph. On the mound he shows athletic actions and has a clean arm stroke. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 62mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. In 2 innings of work, Seth punched out 3 hitters and induced soft contact. At the plate he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Does a good job of keeping his hands inside the baseball and has a high finish. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently to all fields. In live game action he reached base 2 times with a walk and reached on error. He has a great attitude is a team first guy. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/09/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in California (Ages 14-18) Seth is a 2025 2B/RHP who improved his skills during the BF Select Training and Competition. At 2B he shows ability to create good fielding angles and works to center the baseball. He closes distance on batted balls and replaces his feet during the throwing process. Made accurate throws to first base from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 68mph. On the mound he has a simple delivery as he works from stretch only. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 59mph, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, he didn't allow a hit and punched out 3 batters. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. He separates his hands and is centered at contact. Rotates the lower half well and shows ability to control the barrel. In live game action he reached base 2 times with 2 singles. Seth worked hard and made huge stride during his time training. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Spokane, WA Seth is a lean 2B who will graduate in 2025. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Seth has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
