08/01/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - West Lawn, PA - AM Seth is a strong, good sized, 2-way player that Pitches and plays 1B. He currently projects equally at both positions as he enters his Junior year. On the mound, Seth has a good Pitchers build, good direction toward the plate, and he keeps his eyes on his target. He shows to be effective at the High School level, with a nice 2-7 shaped CB. Seth can improve on the mound with added velocity, better command, and by finishing off his pitches better. At 1B, Seth presents his glove well and shows good range. He moves well laterally, he has good footwork around the bag, and he throws accurately with carry to his target. Added arm strength and looser actions will help solid defensive grades become even better. Offensively, Seth is an aggressive hitter who takes good hacks at the ball. He has good balance and strength, and he puts the ball in play. Better consistency and better use of his lower 1/2 will help offensive numbers get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
