05/23/2010 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Seth is a tall, thin, SS that will graduate in 2011. Defensively Seth shows good lateral range, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He tries to field the ball out in front of his body, and he throws accurately across the diamond. If Seth can improve his footwork, get his glove down sooner, and work on his back hand, defensive grades can improve. At the plate, Seth has good balance, bat speed, and a level swing. He uses his hips well, and attacks the ball with the barrel of the bat. A wider base and better load will help hitting further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
