07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Shane is a 2027 2B prospect out of Philadelphia, PA who improved his skills at the BF National World Series at the Jackie Robinson Complex. Athletic build with some strength present and plenty of room to fill out. At 2B, he fields from the ground up, with a low funnel, as he tries to center the ball. Clean transfers into a high 3/4 release point. Accurate/on-line throws recorded up to 70mph across the diamond. At the plate he starts with an open and athletic stance with high hands. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Reached base 4 times and had a bat exit velocity up to 64mph in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee Shane having a bright future on the baseball field. We look forward to seeing his development as he enters his freshman year of high school.

01/14/2023 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Shane is a 2B who has a promising future on the on the diamond. At 2B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 4 1/2 years to further develop, Shane has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
