08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Wright showed as an OF and behind the plate for the first time. He has improved his baseball abilities and show potential at both positions. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.53 runner. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show in the 2.20 range and displays solid blocking / receiving skills that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved as well, now showing as solid average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.
