06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Shea is a medium framed, athletic, 2-way player that plays 2B and Pitches. In the INF, Shea has good footwork and he stays down on the baseball. He has a soft glove, he makes plays, and has a quick release with carry to his target. If Shea can field the ball more out in front of his body, and not rush his throws, defensive numbers can further improve. On the mound, Shea has simple mechanics and a loose / free arm action. He lives in the zone with all of his pitches and attacks hitter aggressively. Added arm strength will only help Shea's stock on the mound rise. Offensively, Shea has good balance and a sound set-up. He has good strike zone awareness and he squares the ball up well. Shea is a contact / spray hitter, and if he can add strength, and work the ball up the middle of the field, offensive tool grades can get better. Went 2 for 5 with 4 BB's in the tournament for an .OBP of .667.
