12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Silas is a tall 2026 OF/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. In the outfield, he starts from an athletic position, has quick feet, and is agile to both sides of his body. He makes good reads and takes direct angles to balls in the air and on the ground. He has a loose arm action and had accurate throws. Silas did a great job of getting rid of the ball quick and had a top arm velocity of 82 mph. At the plate, he has a square stance, a high hand slot, and an activated load. Silas has a strong lower and explosive bat speed. He showcased some pop gap to gap during batting practice with an exit velocity of 90 mph. On the mound, Silas has a FB that sits 78-80 mph, a CB that he was able to throw in all counts, and a CH that sat at 72-75 mph. During the game, he threw 3 innings picking up 4 strikeouts and caused a lot of soft contact. He also didnt allow any runs in his innings of work. We foresee that Silas will continue to catch the eyes of scouts both on the mound and at the plate.

05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Clinton, IA Silas is a 2026 RHP/OF prospect with a strong frame at 6'0" 185 pounds. In the OF, he shows off efficient feet and does a good job of getting a good prep step. He has good range to all angles and covers a good chunk of ground on both fly balls and ground balls. He has a clean exchange and shows off an impressive arm in the field that carries momentum through his targets. Recorded a max raw velo of 83 MPH. He is super aggressive going after ground balls and overall shows off a lot of effort in all of his movements. At the plate, he starts in a squared, athletic stance and has a nice, short stride to the pitcher. His rhythm is impressive and he does a great job of letting his lower half lead. He has serious bat whip and good barrel feel with an awesome on-plane swing. Loves to work the ball to all fields and squares the ball up consistently. On the mound, he does well to gather his balance over the rubber and he shows off solid pace in his delivery. He easily repeats his motion and does well to get on-time separation. He keeps his eyes on his target, and his arm really plays here, recording a high velo of 81 MPH with his FB. He does really well to maintain good arm speed on his off speed offerings. Silas is an exciting prospect that should continue to develop with a great shot of playing at the next level!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
