12/02/2012 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Skyler is a thick catcher that will graduate in 2014. Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.14-2.48 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he continues to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, Henderson shows an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through an uphill swing path. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to stay inside the ball and level out swing path. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 2 years to further develop, Skyler has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
