07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Slade is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Slade shows active footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws consistently on-line to his target. Slade can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and leads well with his lower half. He gets good extension on his swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact to his pull side. Slade can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Slade shows a good tempo and works with a clean arm action. He extends through on his release and finishes square to the plate. Slade has a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with late arm side run. Changeup sits at 56-57mph. Slade can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. With four more years to develop, Slade has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
