07/12/2020 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Spencer is a hard working L/L (6'1"/165) OF who graduates in 2021. In the OF, he hustles to his right and left to track down fly-balls working into position behind the ball. He secures it with 2-hands, stays directional and has a clean transfer to throw. Working to gain more ground toward his target while strengthening his arm (long toss), will aid in his defensive development. As a hitter, this lefty stands in with a square setup and patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He squares the ball up and hits line-drives with the ability to go to the opposite field. Added power will come with more use of his lower 1/2. This 2021 grad has tool with still time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
