10/03/2010 - College PREP - Boise, ID Spencer is a young OF with a thin, lean, and athletic looking body that is well suited for his position and shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. Foot speed is average as indicated by his 7.53 60 time as he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness. In the OF, feet are active but needs to work on taking proper routes / angles in working to get behind fly balls to play through with momentum to his target. He is aggressive on his approach on ground balls, playing through well. Throws show accuracy but must get on a long toss program to aid in further developing more carry and arm strength. Offensively is where Seale shows best. He displays a balance approach that allows his hands to attack the baseball. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Lower half works well through the swing as he shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off his bat. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to load more and keep hands through the baseball at contact. With 2 years to further develop, Spencer has a lot of potential to be a solid collegiate player as he continues to develop.
