08/25/2024 - National Showcase - Missoula, MT Stellan is a 2027 left-handed pitcher and first baseman prospect from Lolo, Montana, who possesses a tall frame and athletic build, showcasing excellent body control on the field. He displays quick feet, effectively closing the distance on batted balls while skillfully picking out hops. His throwing mechanics include a low 3/4 arm slot and a quick release, enabling him to make accurate throws. At the plate, he exhibits quick hands and late bat whip, complemented by a strong lower half turn that generates line drives, achieving a bat exit velocity of up to 84 mph. On the mound, he demonstrates good movement on his pitches and a downward plane, with a fastball that tops out at 77 mph, a slider with tight spin, and a change-up delivered with fastball arm speed. With three years of development ahead and a frame capable of adding weight, his future in baseball is very promising.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
