11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City Steve continues to show as a 3B with a lot of energy. Feet are active as he moves well laterally, flashing range. He attacks ground balls, playing through well. He needs to present his hands more out front and soften up to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Thoresen shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. He needs to work to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and improve hitting grade. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he competes well and is very coachable.
