11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Steven continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Fall Select showcase. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Steven is a 2026 LHH OF/1B prospect from South Plainfield, NJ. In the OF, he does a great job of centering the baseball and making all the routine plays. He gets in a good, squared fielding position and does well to present his hands out in front. He works hard to follow his throws back in to his cutoffs. At first, his hands can get a little deep but he's able to make all the routine plays. His exchange is quick and he has a nice arm action from a high 3/4 slot. His release is quick with momentum and he makes accurate throws across the diamond when needed. At the plate, he starts in an athletic, tall stance and gets an on-time, squared stride to the pitcher. He keeps his balance centered and his lower half works well through the baseball. His swing is on-plane and he can work the gaps with consistency. Overall, Steven is a very raw athlete that should continue to develop nicely as he grows into his strength/body!

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory Los Angeles All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Steven is a class of 2026 1B/RHP prospect. In the field, he shows accurate throws and quick exchanges. Showed good footwork and worked through the baseball. At the plate, he showed good balance throughout his swing. Had a very good lower ½ throughout the swing. Consistently barreled the baseball and had exit velos up to 68 MPH. Recorded multiple hits in game action. On the mound, he worked up to 59 MPH with his fastball. Showed clean mechanics and a loose arm action. Steven is a well-rounded player that we hope to see again.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Steven is a projectable OF/RHP in the class of 2026 out of New Jersey. Defensively, he worked hard to try and work behind the baseball to get his momentum going towards his target on his throws. His throws from the outfield to his cut off were accurate. Offensively, he used a tall stance with loose hands that allows him to work the ball to all fields in his approach. On the mound, he loved to compete and worked to try and get ahead of hitters. He had a good tempo and threw only a fastball which ranged from 51-54mph. Steven could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, arm path, bands, strength training, speed & agility drills.

12/12/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Manalapan, NJ Steven is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays 1B and OF. In the INF, Steven has good athleticism, playable hands and feet, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He is a good sized target, he moves well around the bag, and he throws with consistency from a quick arm action to his target. Abilities at 1B can get better with lighter feet and by fielding further out in front of his body. In the OF, Steven has athletic actions, he tracks well, and makes the routine plays. He plays through ground balls, and has some accuracy to his cut off man. Quickening footwork and improved range will help skills in the OF improve. Offensively, this LHH has a tall stance, a short stride, and he swings aggressively. He can spray the ball to all fields and he uses his lower body well. Hitting can improve with work on rhythm/timing and staying short to the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
