08/27/2023 - National Showcase - Kansas City, KS Steven is a L/L lean 5ft 8/130 OF/1B in the 2024 class. On the grass, he shows active feet and covers his defensive zone well. He plays aggressively and takes great routes to get behind the baseball. His exchanges are quick and clean and gains a short high 3 qtr slot. Throws back the dirt are accurate and does a god job of following his feeds. On the dirt, he plays with athletic feel. Has proper pre-pitch footwork and gains ground to the baseball. Creates a low and balanced fielding position with soft hands. Works from the ground up with a clean exchange. At the plate, he showed excellent actions. He is balanced and stays in his legs. Hands solid hands and hips rhythm and creates barrel feel with his quiet eyes. Shows line drive production to the alleys. Overall solid 2024 prospect.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Steven is a 2024 OF/LHP. Defensively, he displayed active and efficient footwork with a good first step in his reaction off the bat. Offensively, he uses a simple set up to get the bat on plane in which he utilizes all fields in his approach. He had an impressive at bat vs. a lefty in which he drove the ball to LF with 2K. On the bump, Steven was composed and did a good job working the edges of the zone. Steven could benefit from a long toss/strength training program to increase velocity. Overall, Steven had a great showing at the AZ Fall Classic and improved his raw velo by 2 mph topping at 75mph.

07/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Atchinson, KS Steven is an OF/1B prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the OF, Steven shows fluid footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. At 1B, Steven shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a closed stance and takes his stride on time. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with good extension, producing solid line drives. Overall, Steven is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
